March 23, 2020

Dear Qué Tal Parents,

A) In the event the school closings extend beyond March 30th, to assure all Qué Tal employees are able to be at home, and also be ready to come back when the moment is right, our Board has authorized the continuation of the pay for all Qué Tal staff (teachers, attendants, Club teachers and office staff) while we work remotely.

B) We will continue to offer Spanish education for our students with our current platforms (pearsonrealize.com and the Auténtico App) and potentially other means we are currently exploring. We’ll also be using Zoom for some more direct interaction with our students in some levels. Your teachers will continue contacting you (and our students, whenever possible) with updates.

C) As an exceptional action under these circumstances, our Board has authorized us to refund any unused portion of your After-Class (i.e. el Club) tuition for the remainder of this school year (2019-2020). You do not need to do anything. As soon as we are back, we will calculate and process those refunds (during June at the latest).

If you are able, we ask you to please consider donating your refund to our program (as a 501C-3 non-profit organization, we will issue tax deductible receipts for your donation).

D) As we sustain a remote Spanish learning opportunity for all our students, we realize some families have encountered difficult economic circumstances. We do have a small budget for scholarships, and if your family needs scholarship support, to cover the last 2 months of class tuition of this school year, please look at our scholarship process in our Parent Handbook. (see Qué Tal website) (since you all have already paid the full year, this would be executed as a refund).

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Francisco C Peschard

Executive Director
