Wayzata Que Tal Plan 2020-21

Dear Qué Tal Wayzata families and staff,

I am reaching out to provide information regarding our planning for the 2020-21 school year. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these most challenging of circumstances and also, I want to thank those of you who have offered feedback during recent weeks and months.
Your insights have been helpful as we continue to move forward in our planning.
(I’ll appreciate your feedback once we have more details and throughout the year).

While Wayzata District has announced they plan to begin classes following a hybrid model and although they have not yet confirmed specific schedules, we have decided to begin the year (September and October) with distance learning only. We think the risk for students, teachers and parents with in-person classes is just too high for an elective subject.
Depending on the evolution of the pandemic, we will confirm in September if there are any changes to this plan for November-December.

We are crediting (and will refund if you already paid) all “el Club” fees.

For Elementary School,  We’ll begin with 4 Zoom classes per week (55 minutes each) on a schedule compatible with the school. We are planning for no more than 10:1 student to teacher ratio.

For Middle School, we’ll begin with 3 Zoom classes per week (50 minutes each) on a schedule compatible with the school. We are planning for no more than 10:1 student to teacher ratio.

We understand how difficult the uncertainty caused by the pandemic has been for our families and staff members. We remain committed to doing our very best, despite these challenges, to provide a valuable Spanish learning experience. Again, many thanks for your support, patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Francisco Peschard
Executive Director
